What is your first memory of a car that got you hooked?

I guess it would be a 53 Henry J. Back in 54-55 they were on the way out, dealer for this one parked one front wheel up on a railroad tie, popped the hood a notch to make it look ratty and had $300 on it. The idea was to make it look bad and cheap, so he could sell his lot full of Fords and Chevrolets. njm,. I was getting by with a 41 Willys Americar fourdoor at the time. Henry J was a six cyl OD, 3k miles on it, still smelled new. I fell in love with it and had it for quite a few years, replaced it with a 53 Kaiser Manhattan. Worked up to a Kaiser Darrin, fiberglass sports car with sliding doors. Chev Corvette copied the idea, it worked well for them.

Henry J's are cool, they were even sold at Sear's under the name Allstate, interesting little cars
