Excuse me if this is not the right area, but I just bought a nearly completed Mercedes 500SL rebody of an 83 Mustang convertible.
So far I have found that V8Archie used to sell them, hasn't for over 10 years now!  I would love to correspond with any other owners of such a kitcar, or any information one may choose to share with me.

Hi- the only other Stang-MercBenz I ever saw was the one for sale on E bay about 2 weeks ago. These are usually built on the Chrysler LeBaron set up. I too just bought a not so common FireRossa and have had no luck finding LINKS to the car. Its not so EZ having a replicar that not many others have.   JJ  

Yeah, that one on EBay is the one I have, I bought it.  There have been several LeBaron ones sold on EBay, this is the first and only one I saw on a Mustang.  At the time back in the early 90's, a 500SL cost a hundred thousand dollars, you could make a phony one for about 20k.  I am VERY happy with mine, just wish I could find some others with the same one to compare notes.  I know of two others, a silver one and a red one at least, just don't know where they are located or who has them.  

Interesting, I never really thought about kit cars that way. I guess they can be like many other rare cars, where it is hard to find other people who have the same thing as you, which always makes things easier to deal with.
