Of all the interests I have, Kitcar stuff just does not seem to be a hobby to be shared.
I am somewhat perplexed about that, in other hobbies there are many willing to share their experiences and help those in need on their projects.  This seems to be the best forum I have found, and outside of the three or four of us, nothing!  Does anybody have a feeling on this?

Hi,

You pose an intriguing question. Yes, I do agree that this is a good forum. But, I believe the problem stems from the fact that not many people are aware that there are forums and blogs here. Another possible problem could be that there are a couple of kit car forums that are hugely popular that are geared towards specific models of replicas. One is ClubCobra.com. The other is FFCobra.com. The first is geared to any enthusiast who has or longs to own a Cobra, GT40, or Daytona Coupe replica, with no regard for which company manufactured the kit. The other, FFCobra.com is a forum for owners or fans of the largest kit car manufacturer, Factory Five Racing.

It would be great if more people came here and used these forums and blogs. Does anyone have any ideas on how we might get the word out to the multitude of kit car enthusiasts across the land? Could there be other reasons why these forums and blogs might not be that popular? What do you think?

I look forward to hearing from any and all readers of KIT CAR, or visitors of this website.

Best,

Brian, aka AutoSmith (and Editor of KIT CAR Magazine)

Well, maybe you have part of the answer.  I have got to re subscribe to Kit Car, but maybe letters section or such may help.  Two other forums that I frequent have a magazine, and they even print some of the relevant postings from their forum in the magazine, that might help draw some people in(I don't know maybe you already do that)
My reason for leaving the magazine some years ago was that the content seemed to be all about some new exotic kit or the other, but no meat and potatoes about the real people that were building or enjoying their replicas.

You would think that in such a niche market people would be lining up to have a place to discuss the hobby, but maybe the problem lies, in that it is to niche of a hobby, but yeah I would love to find out a way to increase the amount of poeple who use the forums, and the site in general, it is my job after all.

My points exactly.  I subscribed to the magazine for a couple of years today, we all have to get our act together.
