I met Dave and Debbie Grabowski at the Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet, held in Austin, Texas, in the spring of 2007. In addition to building, owning, and driving these two superlative replicas, the Grabowskis are wonderful people. Dave and his brother built the '32 Ford five-window coupe that emulates the American Grafitti movie car. With the professional help of Copperfield Automotive, they installed the engine/trans in the #8 ball Backdraft Racing roadster. Y'all should read the article to find out more. The Grabowski machines are shown and driven, which is one of the great aspects about building a kit car!

Bill,
It is a very fun job, I must admit!
Bill, how's your FFR Type 65 running? Have you made any changes to it over the winter?

Its Running great was saving up to get it streetable paying taxes and all that.James Yales car was so nice on the back side of the hood painted like the top Im proceding with a hood redo.It had fallen a couple to many times in the wind and the scoop had started to crack so im revamping both sides. We love to take it to events and drive so much I havent worrid about the details so now that the weather is nicer im in full swing on stripping the paint shoring up the clearences when the hood is closed and begining work on the underside to make it nice like James car fully painted and striped undernside.Im looking into Koni shocks for the Daytona but wow are double adjustibles pricey, but the price of speed has never been low.Have a great one. I agree that Brian has a pretty sweet gig, I spend most of my days looking at all the pictures of all the cool stuff he gets to see / do.

Hey Bill,
I'm sure you'll do a great job on the Coupe. I can't wait to see it at an event this year, maybe sooner than Run 'N' Gun?
Best,
Brian
