Under-car exhaust for Cobras

Anyone experimented w/ under-car exhaust systems for 427 bodied replicas, and if so, what combination of mufflers yield a sound character befitting the car, yet allowing for long-distance cruising without hearing protection?
I would be installing this under my Backdraft Racing Cobra, BTW.
