Hello, ive decided to try building a kit car, but i want to start from scratch with the body. Im wanting to build a Lamborghini Countach or Diablo, but i prefer the latter. Does anyone know some good IN-DEPTH sites on how to do this? Most of the ones ive seen are just updates on the project, but dont tell alot about how. And if anyone can direct me to the plans for it that would also be appreciated. Thanks, Tom  

anyone have ideas? ive seen 2 methods used. One was metal frame with the foam directly mounted to it. the other was the wood jigs. i think the second would be more detailed tho.  

Yea id be kinda nervous about diving in that deep on a first time project myself.I did see a vidio on FFR forum of a guy biulding his own boby with the expandible foam  it looked cool,once the foam was in place he sculped it with a electric knife, turned out great.Though it wasnt a Lambo it could be done with any body type...WB3

As wonderful as it may sound there are a number of reasons you may not want to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak. The body is generally the least of your worries. You will want the best most original headlights, tail lights, windsheild etc. if you are to build the most perfect replica. This is where the bulk of your $$$ will go. So any kit you build will need to incorporate those items so they fit in the right location with a minimum of retrofitting the fiberglass later. Paying $5,000 for a fiberglass body will seem inexpensive.
    If you truly must build from scratch there are some web sites and even You Tube videos that will show you how. Typically you make wooden or foam board patterns cut using a CAD program. These are made every 3-4 inches and are attached over a buck. Then foam is used to fill the space between them. You can cut and shape the foam easily with a hot wire. Then lots of filler and lots of sanding. This is typically how one would build something like that Anaconda concept. Myself, I am having a hard enough time fitting an original Gullwing windshield to a replica body and not have it pop out at 60 MPH or leak water in the rain.
