I hate to part with my gorgeous toy, but I have to. I am listing this car for $19,500.00. Therefore, this can be your chance to own a '66 Cobra at a really good price because this has to sell. Most Shelby's in this condition sell for $5-10K more, and I am willing to negotiate.

Here are the details:

Registered in the State of Texas as a 1966 Ford. The VIN # matches with a 1966 Mustang. This is unique among all other Cobras in that you can insure and drive it as a 1966 car. In Texas, that means no emissions inspections as well.

Body: Cobra Auto Works

Chassis: Ron Godell Race Cars

Motor: 1989 Mustang 5.0 HO Modified with Mallory Ignition and Edelbrock carburetor

Transmission: 1989 Mustang T5 Rebuilt by Lester Gear Works

Rear End: 9” Ford Positrac Narrowed by Ron Godell Race Cars. The rear end can handle a lot of pressure and power as it has a 3.70 ratio.

Wheels: Crager Aluminum Drag Stars

Brakes: Wilwood Discs and Calipers front and rear.

The car has recently had suspension work done by Keith Craft Motorsports: http://www.keithcraftmotorsports.com/ as well as a massive overhaul of the fuel tank and filtering systems. I installed racing foam in the fuel tank and re-welded the corners. Very solid.

I have most original receipts showing massive improvements on the car. One improvement is the kill-switch above the fuel tank in the rear. Without the key, the car cannot be started. This is a huge theft-deterrent as the thief will not be able to steal the car without the key!

This is completely turn-key. Nothing is needed. It starts up every time and performs beautifully.

Email me or reply to the post and we can set up a time for you to come and see the car

So it has an ignition lock cylinder. If you don't mind me asking, what is the capacity of the fuel tank? Thanks.
