Wow, sounds wonderful, can we get some photos of it?  What part of the country do you live in?  Would love to see how you did the power steering and brakes too.

Well, finally the garage got it all sorted out.  I was having a little heating problem but they changed out the 1400cfm fan for a 3000cfm and now it's great.  The shop had a great radiator built...it's aluminum, 3 core and fits perfectly.  They even modified so the radiator cap with the emblem is now the actual radiator cap.  I've put about 200 miles on it and everything seems to be working like it should.  Now it's a quick little car and much more fun to drive.  The only other change I would like to do is to change out the rear end for a Ford 9" with positraction, but that will have to wait (for ***

Since I'm pretty much computer illiterate, I will forward some pictures to TxDon and he can post them here if he would be so kind.

I just tried it, works for me.  You got to click on  the "Photos" word over on the left side column, then click on the album.

As soon as I can, I'll post some photosto the yahoo website.I live in the Midwest in Olathe Ks., a suburb of Kansas City. power steering is a Flaming River Mustang II power steering rack and pump setup that only works at 2000 + rpms . great  for parking and great road feel; no oversteer . power brakes were done with an ECI remote brake booster that I mounted on the shelf in the trunk where I also relocated my battery. Mine works off of vacuum but they have a different setup for more radical engines.

Well that is a double dose of good for me, I will be in Kansas City a couple of weeks this summer, sure would like to look it over!  On that same trip I will be going thru El Paso, so can see Pauls as well!  I am at the assemble stage yet, but am stumped enough on stuff I will be crawling under and over with the digital camera for sure.

Be glad to have you come by and take a look. Maybe by the time you get here ,I'll have a few  more things done to it and we could take it for a spin. You know , these cars are always "a work in progress", and never finished.

Yeah, every car guy (and their wife!) knows a project is never finished...

Interesting to find this forum.  I've got a '36 540K roadster replica built by Thoroughbred Coachworks. www.classic36mercedes.com.

She's on a Mustang II frame and drive train.  Chevy 350 with a Holly 4bbl and Hurst automatic.  Goes like a bat out of hell. Was in storage for many years.  Less than 3000 on the odo.  Gotta sell her, though.  There's always another project demanding shop space!  Anybody know what these buckets are going for these days?

I just found your forum and would like to find out some information.  I have a 1929 Gazel Mercedes replica that was built by Classic Carriges of Miami.  I have has it for about 20 years and am reworking it at this time.  I need to find out where I can get some body parts such as lights, Mirrors and etc.  It is mounted on a 1955 VW and is located in St.Thomas, Virgin Islands and I will be shipping it to Florida when I get it done.  There are a few ods and ends that I could use.  Can anybody help me since Classic Carriges has been closed for years now.

We all have that problem it seems, Classic Roadsters has went belly up a couple of times, they have some parts but won't sell them.
Many of the parts were not actually made for the Gazelle, but were off the shelf parts that were on the market.  I have been able to replace some of my missing parts by extensive searching.  The street rod industry is alive and well, many parts there.

Hi everyone; I need some help finding some front turning signal lenses for my wife's Marlene.  The "O" rings around the lenses are brittle and broken and the lenses have melted on one side; perhaps the bulbs are too hot.  I don't know where to look for replacement lenses, cooler bulbs, or new light assemblies for the front.  Any suggestions?

Also, the wiring on the car is strange; when you have the left turning signal blinkers on and you put on the brakes, the left turn signal stops blinking but the brake lights work as they should.  Conversely, when you have the right turning signal on and you apply the brakes, the right brake light doesn't light up but the right turn signal keeps blinking as it should.  I asked someone about this and they said that it was not unusual since there is only one "two filament" bulb in the rear lenses instead of two separate bulbs.  I don't think that two bulbs will fit into the tail light housing.  Has anyone else got this problem with their Marlene and if so, has anyone found a solution for the problem?
